Mustard Oil

  1. Put 1 tablespoon of mustard oil into a small bowl or cup. Microwave for 5-10 seconds until the oil is slightly warm.
  2. Use a dropper to suck up 1 drop of the oil. Squeeze 1 drop of mustard oil into your left nostril.Wait 2 minutes.
  3. Squeeze 1 drop of mustard oil into your right nostril.

Make sure you wait enough time between nostrils, as mustard oil can make it difficult to breathe.

Turmeric Tea

  1. Pour 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric into a tea cup. Boil 1 cup of water. Pour the water over the turmeric.
  2. Steep for 5 to 10 minutes. Strain the turmeric out of the tea.
  3. Drink the tea hot.
  4. Drink 2 to 3 cups per day until your runny nose is gone.

Salt Flush

A runny nose often happens because your nose is full of toxins and irritants that your body is trying to flush out. A salt flush takes care of this, making it one of the best home remedies for runny nose.

  1. Stir 1 teaspoon of salt one cup of water until it is dissolved. Use a dropper to suck up some of the salt water solution.
  2. Lean over a sink and hold your right nostril shut. Squeeze the dropper full of salt water into your left nostril. Let the left nostril flush out.
  3. Refill the dropper. Hold your left nostril shut. Squeeze the dropper into your right nostril.
  4. Lean over the sink for 30 seconds to let your nose completely flush out.

Thyme

Thyme is one of the best herbs for clearing the body of toxins, making it helpful for clearing out a nose that is clogged up with irritants.

  1. Crush 2 tablespoons of dried thyme using a mortar and pestle into fine powder.
  2. Take the crushed thyme and put it in the center of a clean, thin handkerchief. Tie the handkerchief around the thyme to lock it in.
  3. Hold the thyme up to your nose and inhale deeply.
  4. Repeat whenever your nose starts running.

  1. Put 2 to 3 large slices of ginger in a cup. Pour 1 cup of hot water over the ginger.
